Canary, an innovator in transceiver manufacturing since 1987, is pleased to announce the release of three new Fast Ethernet miniature-sized transceivers. By making optimal use of state-of-the-art integrated circuits and surface-mount technology, Canary has produced three exceptionally affordable and reliable transceivers - one transceiver for each of the different media options available to the 100Mbps user.
IEEE 802.3u Compliant
The CTX-1070 is a 100Base-TX transceiver, the CFX-107X is a series of 100Base-FX transceivers, and the CT4-1030 is a 100Base-T4 transceiver. Each unit is compliant with all the applicable IEEE 802.3u specifications. Further, all the transceivers connect directly or via cable to a 40-pin MII (media independent interface) port.
100Mbps Performance
Use the CTX-1070 and CT4-1030 transceivers to easily integrate 100Mbps performance into your 10BaseX network. These two transceivers are 10/100 compatible, which means the transceiver senses whether or not it is connected to a 10Mbps or 100Mbps segment and automatically negotiates to the fastest connection. The CFX-107X series 100Base-FX transceivers only operate at 100Mbps. And because Canary has designed transceivers for each media type, the user can make use of their existing cabling scheme. A simple and effective method to make use of the increased throughput and high bandwidth of Fast Ethernet.
Seamless Upgrade Path
Canary has worked closely with the leading silicon manufacturers and has rigorously tested these products, so the user can be assured that the units will seamlessly interconnect with other Fast Ethernet products including routers, switches, hubs and network interface cards.
MII Connectivity
Simply attach the units to an MII port by plugging in the mating MII connector on the transceiver and turning the thumb screws to tighten the threaded fittings for a very
secure fit.
