100Mbps Performance for Ethernet LANs

SMC's EtherPower 10/100 adapter is a 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T compliant device for PCI-bus computers that provides both 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps operation. With this dual-speed, bus-master adapter, you can future-proof your network. Set it for 10 Mbps and it will operate with all 10BASE-T devices. When you need the additional bandwidth, simply set it to 100 Mbps. At the faster speed, the EtherPower 10/100 provides the performance necessary for today's distributed applications - applications requiring bandwidth in excess of 10 Mbps with bursts approaching 100 Mbps. Ideal for both servers and high-performance workstations, this adapter also provides improved response times for all other network users.

In addition to an RJ-45 connector for 10/100 Mbps software- selectable operation on unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cable, the EtherPower 10/100 features a DB-9 connector for 100 Mbps operation on shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable. This unique cabling option allows Token Ring customers to upgrade to Fast Ethernet by simply changing adapters and hubs, while leaving their cabling plant intact.

It comes with a full complement of drivers for most popular network operating systems, as well as SMC's EZStart utility, which takes the work out of driver installation. And, with a free SNMP agent, lifetime warranty and the industry's best, free Technical Support, you can be sure you're getting the highest possible product reliability and value. For not much more than the cost of our standard Ethernet adapter, the EtherPower 10/100 gives you ten times the performance
