products that are easy to install, use, and manage.
The EtherSwitch 1200, an exceptionally affordable, high-performance
alternative to 10BaseT hubs, gives hubs and individual nodes a boost in
network performance while preserving your 10BaseT hub and adapter
investments.
The EtherSwitch® 1200 combines configuration
flexibility with exceptional affordability for workgroup applications.
Available for a very low cost per port, the EtherSwitch 1200 is ideal for
Ethernet workgroups and individual users requiring increased performance
and 100-megabits-per-second (Mbps) Ethernet connectivity to servers and
backbones. The EtherSwitch 1200 is a member of the CiscoPro Workgroup
Solutions family of high-performance LAN switches, which provide scalable
bandwidth and a range of flexibility and affordability to meet diverse
network requirements.
The EtherSwitch 1200 workgroup switch has 25 10BaseT ports providing
switched 10-Mbps Ethernet bandwidth to individual workstations and existing
10BaseT hubs. Two 100BaseTX ports deliver high-speed server and backbone
connectivity.
The EtherSwitch 1200 is an exceptionally affordable, high-performance
alternative to 10BaseT hubs. You can connect hubs and individual nodes to
the EtherSwitch 1200 to boost network performance while preserving your
10BaseT hub and adapter investments. With an address cache of 1024 Media
Access Control (MAC) addresses, small and large workgroups can be
accommodated with unshielded twisted pair (UTP) links to 100BaseTX servers
and backbones such as routers, switches, and repeaters. CollisionFree® full-duplex operation on the 100BaseTX ports eliminates
collisions and provides up to 200 Mbps of bandwidth for servers and
switch-to-switch or switch-to-router connections.
In addition to small companies and corporate workgroups, the EtherSwitch
1200 brings the benefits of workgroup switching to branch offices. The
switch links via switched Ethernet to any Ethernet access router for
forwarding data and files to headquarters locations.
