The CiscoPro 753 is the only product of its kind to offer multi-protocol routing, a built-in NT1, data compression and analog telephone support.
The CiscoPro 753 multi-protocol router provides single users and small offices with affordable, high-speed remote access to enterprise networks and to the Internet. Very similar to the market leader EVERYWARE 2060, the CiscoPro 753 provides the additional capability to use standard telephones, facsimile machines and analog modems when used on a voice-configured ISDN phone line. With this capability, the CiscoPro 753 eliminates the need to have both analog and ISDN telephone lines, as well as the need for expensive ISDN telephones.
With the CiscoPro 753, telecommuters and remote office workers using PCs, Macintoshes®, or UNIX workstations, experience the same networking environment as they have at the enterprise. Subject to authentication and customized access control via Cisco's unique Personal Network Profiles(TM), these users gain remote network access to server-based information and shared applications. They can also connect to the Internet, or make temporary dial-in network connections for office-to-office digital package delivery.
The CiscoPro 753 provides 4:1 compression hardware and an ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) for speeds up to 512 kbps. The 753 includes an Ethernet port for LAN data, an S/T port for ISDN telephones, and an analog port for use with standard telephones (POTS, or Plain Old Telephone Service), faxes and modems.

Table 1. CiscoPro 753 Features and Benefits
| Features | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Support for analog telephones | Saves time and money by eliminating the need for two separate telephone lines and expensive ISDN telephones |
| User-configurable call priority | If both B channels are being used for data, one channel can be dropped in order that an in-bound call can be accepted, providing simultaneous use of data and voice (or fax/modem) communications |
| Initial set-up via telephone | Users can enter a minimum set of configuration param-eters with only a touch-tone telephone, eliminating the need for the workstation, serial configuration cables and terminal emulation software; network administrators can then use Connect! or TELNET to set up more advanced features |
| Full function bridge-router for IP and IPX networks | Fits into routed enterprise networks; extends and connects networks to create a Wide-Area Network |
| Multilink PPP | Standards-based link layer for access to the Internet and interoperable B-channel aggregation |
| Split B-channels | Supports simultaneous sessions with two different sites |
| On-demand dialing | Reduces line costs without impacting performance |
| High-performance data compression | Achieves data transfer rates up to 512 kbps; reduces line costs and increases productivity |
| Remote management via SNMP and Telnet | Provides standards-based monitoring and configuration |
| Link authentication (PAP/CHAP) | Protects network resources by preventing unauthorized access and call-back security |
| Personal Network Profiles | Provides "per user" access control and network parameters |
| TACACS and token-based authentication (with Connection Manager(TM)) | Provides increased levels of network |
| Built-in NT1 option | Saves cost and space, simplifies installation |
| Software upgradeable enhancements | Protects investment with upgrade path to future |
The CiscoPro 753 offers the benefits of IP and IPX routing, concurrent bridging, multi-link Point-to-Point protocol (PPP), SNMP management and multi-level security -- all in a modem-sized package. The CiscoPro 753 is available in two configurations: the 753 model supports up to four users, while the unrestricted 753 RO model supports remote offices. Both models include an integrated NT1.
