The EtherExpress PRO/100 Adapters are the easiest way to migrate from 10 to 100Mbps
Ethernet. PRO/100 Adapters run at 10 or 100Mbps depending on the speed of the hub port
to which they're attached. So workstations on 10Mbps LANs can take advantage of the high
performance design and high speed PCI bus right from the start. When you're ready to switch
to 100Mbps, just change the hub connection to a 100Mbps port. The card will automatically
run at the new speed - a single RJ-45, wiring configuration, and all included drivers support
both 10 and 100Mbps operation. With a switching hub, some nodes can even run at 100Mbps
while others run at 10Mbps on the same segment.
Easy integration into existing Ethernet environments
EtherExpress PRO/100 Adapters are designed to comply with Ethernet standards such as the
IEEE 802.2, 802.3, 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX. Because the PRO/100 adapters use Ethernet's
CSMA/CD protocol, they can be easily integrated into existing Ethernet environments and
don't require speed-matching bridges.
