Kent's Korner

More Bang for the Buck

All of you want to send your information over wide or local area networks the most "cost effective" way. This time we have decided to let you know about some new things that have come out which are easy to implement, yet gives you either speed increases(up to 10 fold) or permits you to share existing facilities by multiple applications.

Kirk’s article discusses some new capabilities available to give you high speed on your local network. We have a more detailed explanation, as well as some common configuration examples on our WEB Page (http://www.kmj.com/fast/fasteth.html). Take a peek at these, send us an e-mail or give us a call.

Jack Borchgrevink from Netlink talks about how you can use Frame Relay to get your information over a wide area network. It is something that you should consider in addition to branch routers to connect smaller sites to your corporate frame relay network. We have a re-print from August 1995 Data Communications magazine on our WEB Page (http://www.kmj.com/netlink/frad.html) or we can send it to you.

We will be offering a free Fast Ethernet seminar on November 30, presented by Nbase Switch Communications at the Radisson Hotel South (HWY 100 and HWY 494). Contact Mel to reserve your space for the seminar.

He can be reached at (612) 536-9709, or via email at mjohnson@kmj.com
