All the NetBeyond components are integrated through Cisco's Internetwork Operating System (Cisco IOS) technologies to guarantee product interoperability, deliver unified network management, ensure LAN and wide area network (WAN) security, and provide enhanced support for multimedia. "Plug and Play" installation and centralized management of all components reduces network administration costs, ensuring control of networks and budgets. Extensive security features, such as user authentication, extended access lists, and secure LAN addressing, protect valuable data. Unique switch and router features optimize LAN and WAN bandwidth when running multimedia applications such as video playback and video conferencing.
NetBeyond integrated, modular approach includes mix and match components - or modules within components - to tailor the most efficient and productive network solution. Multiple models are available for each type of device - hubs, switches, routers - to meet network requirements and budgets.
FastHub 300 Series Hubs are ideal high-performance alternatives to 10BaseT hubs, delivering affordable 100-megabits-per-second (Mbps) performance to workgroups and server farms. The FastHub 316T is equipped with 16 100BaseTX ports for connecting your workstations and servers with inexpensive unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) wiring. The FastHub 316C has 15 100Base-TX ports and one 100BaseFX port for linking UTP devices to a fiber Fast Ethernet backbone.
Both hubs expand easily to 32 ports within a single unit by simply installing a 100BaseTX/16 port module in an expansion slot. The module is hot-swappable, so you can add users without powering down the network and disrupting existing users. Also, up to four fully-configured FastHub 300 Series hubs can be interconnected using an expansion cable to create a single, 128-port logical repeater.
Each FastHub also has a second expansion slot for a hot-swappable Network Management Module (NMM), so you do not need to sacrifice adding users to add management. Only one module is needed to manage an entire FastHub 300 Series stack. An optional Redundant Power Supply (RPS) is also available on both models.
The EtherSwitch 1220 and 1420 are ideal, cost-effective solutions for accelerating the performance of both large and small Ethernet workgroups. With 25 switched 10BaseT ports each providing a full 10Mbps of bandwidth, the EtherSwitch delivers a significant step up in performance to attached 10BaseT hubs and workstations, while protecting existing 10BaseT adapter card investments.
EtherSwitch also provides a variety of high-speed switching ports for direct server and backbone connections to 100-Mbps Ethernet, FDDI and in the future, Asyncronous Transfer Mode (ATM). Full Duplex operation on 100Base-T ports eliminates collisions and provides up to 200 Mbps of bandwidth to servers, routers and other switches.
The EtherSwitch 1220 is preconfigured with 24 switched 10BaseT ports and a choice of two 100BaseTX switches ports, or a mix of 100BaseTX and 100BaseFX switched ports. The EtherSwitch 1220 is capable of storing 1024 MAC addresses.
The versatile EtherSwitch 1420 has 24 switched 10BaseT ports and two expansion slots for a choice of multiport interconnect modules:
This media flexibility makes it cost effective to add and change backbone connections to meet evolving requirements. The EtherSwitch 1420 also supports up to 8,192 MAC addresses.
